Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 thrilled in the chill of winter at Sony Hall in Times Square. Fresh from his 2019 Grammy nomination in the Best World Music Album category for his album Black Times, the last born of the Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulakpo-Kuti performed tracks from the album, while interjecting and keeping audience engaged with the usual commentary on politics, governance and world affairs. Backstage though, was the typical reunion of an eclectic array of fans and friends from the tri-state area, as the band heads to their next gig in Washington D.C.
